Why punks hate pink floyd
They borrowed everything else from The Stones but they did not borrow that. Lennon's New York album was a real misguided attempt to bring back era Dylan direct protest songs.
It failed miserable and Lennon followed it up with a series of middle-aged 'McCartney style' records. Miser, check out the documentary about the Sex Pistols called the Filth and the Fury. You'll have a better understanding of them and their outlook. It was sent to me from Len, I highly recommend.

As a young concert-going person I was never enamoured with celebrities who would walk out to feature in certain songs and then walk off. It struck me as being like Come Dancing. A little pony. What was it that you had in common with punk? Obviously your music is not aggressive and macho the way most punk is. Well, that is just some manifestations of punk. For some people that means being aggressive. For some people it means being colorful. For some people it means being emotional. That punk was about expression… We just went with that, and elaborated on it in our own way.
