It is a bit overpriced, but for some skills it is really useful. Like if you use a 6L Cyclone or Dominating Blow, it can get pretty insanely mana intensive.

Normally you would start running into issues with getting the skill off even once, and leech doesn't really work well unless you can get the skill off twice within your mana pool - Soul Taker removes this problem.
